About this board game

Mega Man Pixel Tactics: Proto Man Red is a head-to-head tactical combat game for two players, with games lasting about 45 minutes.

Each player uses an identical deck of 25 cards and drafts a leader. Because the leader’s abilities dramatically change how the other cards work, every leader creates a distinct approach to play. Across the available choices, the game can be played in 25 different ways.

Players take turns placing cards and attacking. A card’s role depends on how it is used: cards in the front rows can take on offensive capabilities, while cards in the back rows provide support powers. Cards may also be played as orders, delivering powerful one-time effects that can turn the tide of battle.

  • Head-to-head tactical combat for two players
  • Identical 25-card decks with leader-driven strategies
  • Front-row offense, back-row support, and one-time orders
  • Best-of-three or best-of-five round games

Play continues until one player’s leader is defeated. A typical game is played as a best of three or best of five rounds, creating a larger contest from individual tactical battles.

Mega Man Pixel Tactics: Proto Man Red features 28 characters from Mega Man 4–6, including Proto Man and the Robot Masters. These characters are compatible with all other Pixel Tactics games, making the set part of the wider Pixel Tactics game system.
