About this board game

Langfinger is a 30-minute board game for 2–5 players about planning a nighttime heist and turning stolen loot into victory points. Each player takes the role of a scoundrel searching the city for gold and art treasures.

Players place their Scoundrel tokens at five locations on the central board. These locations are resolved in a fixed order, so careful planning can help you gather the tools you need, claim valuable loot, and choose the right moment to sell your haul.

  1. City: Receive Tool cards required for break-ins.
  2. Villa: Receive Loot cards if you meet the tool requirements.
  3. Ruin: Swap Tool cards from your hand with the draw pile.
  4. Museum: Receive Loot cards if you meet the tool requirements.
  5. Harbor: Sell loot to the fence for gold, which counts as victory points.

The Villa and Museum offer opportunities to acquire Loot cards, but only when your available tools meet the relevant requirements. At the Ruin, you can exchange Tool cards from your hand with the draw pile, giving you another way to prepare for future break-ins.

Gold is the key to victory in Langfinger. The first player to earn 20 or more gold wins, making the harbor an important destination for anyone ready to convert their stolen treasures into points.

Announced for release at Essen Spiel 2009, Langfinger also supports turn-based online play through Yucata.
