Little Tavern

About this board game

Little Tavern is a 2024 board game for 3–5 players, with games lasting about 25 minutes. Seat unusual customers, manage the space at each table, and collect tips as the tavern fills.

To begin, each player places a table in front of them. All customer and scroll cards are then mixed face down into a jumbled pile on the table. You never know which being will show up next, so every reveal can affect where the guests should sit.

On your turn, draw and reveal one card, then place it in any empty seat at any table. Customers have different seating preferences, making the arrangement of every table important:

• Romantics want to sit with one another.
• Goblins want to sit with their leader.
• Nobles prefer to sit alone so no one outshines their royalty.

Scrolls function as events, adding another kind of card to the unpredictable mix. As seats disappear, you must make the most of the available spaces while responding to the customers and scrolls you reveal.

When all the tables are full, players score their tips. After the required number of rounds has been completed, the player who has collected the most money wins. With its face-down draw, shared placement options, and varied customer preferences, Little Tavern turns filling a table into a race for the richest reward.
