The Battles of Mollwitz 1741 and Chotusitz 1742 is a two-player historical wargame with an approximately 720-minute play time, depicting the first two battles of Frederick the Great’s career during the First Silesian War.

At Mollwitz, fought on April 10, 1741, Frederick’s Prussian army must advance across snowy fields to attack the waiting Austrian infantry and escape encirclement. The Austrian player has superior cavalry and must use it to delay or distract the Prussian infantry before the Austrian line is overwhelmed. Each side has distinct strengths and weaknesses to exploit, while Frederick himself may flee the battle.

At Chotusitz, fought on May 17, 1742, Prince Charles leads an Austrian army that has outmaneuvered Frederick and seeks to destroy an isolated portion of the Prussian force. The Austrians must attack quickly, before the main Prussian army arrives as reinforcements, creating a closely matched battle in which Austria takes the offensive.

Both scenarios fit on a single map and use fewer counters than the usual BAR series games. Chotusitz is roughly the size of Lobositz, while Mollwitz uses only about two-thirds as many counters as Chotusitz.
