Hockey Blast Pro Hockey Game is a 1–2-player, approximately 45-minute card-chart-and-dice simulation of professional hockey, designed primarily for solitaire play and also playable head-to-head.

Rather than resolving a game pass by pass or shot by shot, Hockey Blast re-creates the action minute by minute. Game charts crystallize what happens during each minute, while a unique lull mechanism lets you fast-forward through uneventful stretches. The result is a brisk simulation that still aims to capture the nuances and excitement of real hockey.

Momentum is a central part of the experience. A team can build momentum by landing a big hit, scoring a goal, making a spectacular save, or having one of its players win a fight. Fights therefore have an impact beyond sending players to the penalty box, giving the classic hockey enforcer a meaningful role in the game.

The two-piece labeled box includes a game book with the necessary charts, a hockey rink game board, strategy cards, dice, momentum and penalty markers, instructions, scoresheets, and two sample teams. Full player card sets based on historical professional hockey seasons are available, along with a fictional player card series updated annually.
