About this board game

Dragon Brew is a strategic fantasy beer brewing game for 2–4 players, with play taking about 120 minutes. You take the role of a head brewer competing for prizes at the annual Dragon’s Keep beer festival.

Across three game years, players develop brewery estates, harvest grain, quest for ingredients and create custom fantastical beers. To earn victory points and claim the top prize, you must adapt your recipes to the festival judges’ changing preferences for color, strength and bitterness.

Each game year is divided into three phases. During Spring, assign brewer meeples to jobs, expand your estate and purchase brewing supplies. You also draft Event cards for immediate rewards or Brewery cards that add new actions and improve existing ones. The phase ends when all brewer meeples have been assigned.

In Fall, everyone brews simultaneously behind their player screens. Combine recipe cards in distinct rows, then reveal the finished beers at the same time. Players present their creations by reading their names and adding flavor text and back story, while each judge awards victory points to the beer that best matches their preferences.

During Winter, reset your estate for the next turn before the competition continues. The player with the most victory points after three game years wins.
