About this board game

Precognition is a 2022 strategy game for 2–4 players, played in about 60 minutes, in which Prescients journey down the Great River to save contaminated Humans and build the largest healthy population.

In this post-apocalyptic world, you are an Ymune gifted with precognition. Over 12 rounds, explore the riverbanks to rescue contaminated Humans, recruit Ymune Doctors to treat them, and hire Ymune Protectors to defend your boat from the Banes ahead. You must also gather Food and Batteries, using these resources to sustain your people and activate your boat’s machine rooms.

The game’s central mechanism is the Dual Select System. During the secret Decision phase, choose cards while allowing others to pass. One of the cards you let pass will return to you on the following turn, making each decision a glimpse of the future and an important part of your long-term plan.

Every round, all players complete three phases at the same time:

• Decision: Draw and choose cards through the Dual Select System.
• Action: Activate cards to gain resources and use any powered machines.
• Maintenance: Manage Banes, heal possible contaminated Humans, and advance along the Great River to reveal and resolve its event.

Each season lasts three rounds. At its end, feed the newly healed Humans, making sure your Food supply can support everyone. After the third season, count your Healthy Humans. The player with the most wins; ties are resolved by comparing total Healthy and Contaminated Humans, with shared victory if the tie remains.

With its simultaneous phases and future-shaping card choices, Precognition challenges you to balance rescue, treatment, protection, and survival all the way downstream.
