This Hallowed Ground is a regimental-level game about the Battle of Gettysburg for 2–6 players, with an approximately 360-minute play time. Released in 1998, it is the first game in The Gamers’ Regimental Sub-Series.

The game uses an expanded version of the Civil War Brigade Series rules system. Its 13 scenarios range from compact one-map engagements to games using all five maps, offering different ways to explore this pivotal battle.

At this scale, each turn represents 15–30 minutes of battle time, each hex covers 110 yards, and the units are regiments. The design presents an extensive treatment of Gettysburg, described as the turning point of the Confederacy.

The physical game includes a substantial collection of maps, counters, rules, charts, and player aids:

• Five 22 × 34-inch full-color mapsheets
• Eight dual-sided countersheets containing 2,240 half-inch counters
• The 40-page CWBS v3.0 system rulebook and an 8-page Regimental Sub-Series rulebook
• A 48-page This Hallowed Ground rulebook
• Two charts and tables booklets, plus a 40-page Unit Loss Chart booklet
• Four player aid cards, three counter storage trays, and two six-sided dice

From a single-map scenario to a full five-map battle, This Hallowed Ground places the Gettysburg campaign within a detailed regimental-level framework. Its large map collection and dedicated scenario selection make it a substantial historical game for groups of two to six players.
