About this board game

Interstellar is a cooperative-competitive board game for 1–6 players, featuring an epic, approximately 240-minute journey aboard the Starship Exodus. Released in 2023, it follows seven spacefaring human-machine hybrids on a decades-long pilgrimage to the stars.

Players place workers and perform actions to develop the technology needed for survival, terraforming, and colonization. The journey is a delicate balancing act: everyone must negotiate risks and challenges together, yet each player ultimately competes to earn the most victory points.

Along the way, the ship and its inhabitants face an array of serious hardships. Cancer, stress, combat against gray goo, and mutineers can all threaten the mission, while risky dice rolling adds uncertainty to crucial decisions.

The Exodus itself is not guaranteed to remain intact. Entire sections of the starship may be lost to erosion, lightning, desperation “fryby” star-diving, or foolhardy experiments, forcing players to respond to an increasingly dangerous voyage.

Every choice in Interstellar contributes to the broader struggle to reach the stars. Work together to keep the pilgrimage alive, manage the consequences of disaster, and pursue the victory points that can decide who prevails when the journey is over.
