About this board game
Good Dog, Bad Zombie is a cooperative 2–4 player board game with a 90-minute play time, set in a zombie apocalypse seen from a dog’s-eye view. You and your fellow dogs must leave the safety of Central Bark, find hoomans in hiding, and bring them home before the city overwhelms your pack.
Each player takes two actions on their turn. You can run to different locations, play energy cards, sniff scent tokens, or give another dog a lick to help them draw more energy. The game’s playful theme is woven into its decisions, with dogs barking, sniffing, licking, and working together to survive.
Energy cards provide abilities such as Run, Herd, Bark, Chew, and Good Doggo. The Good Doggo ability lets each dog perform a unique, powerful action, while some cards can be chained together to create elaborate tactical turns.
- Cooperative play for 2–4 players
- Two actions per player turn
- Energy cards with abilities and combo potential
- Scent tokens for tracking hidden hoomans
- A growing zombie threat and a Feral Tracker
After each player’s turn, dice determine whether another zombie joins the board. Zombies may eat unsuspecting hoomans or make their way into Central Bark, increasing the pressure on the pack. If too many hoomans are eaten or too many zombies enter your refuge, the Feral Tracker reaches 10 and the dogs lose their love of hoomanity.
Rescue enough hoomans to win: six on easier difficulties or eight in expert modes. With its distinctive theme and cooperative challenges, Good Dog, Bad Zombie asks you to balance exploration, energy, rescue efforts, and the ever-present danger of going feral.
