Legends of the Three Kingdoms is a card game for 2–10 players that recreates the turbulent era of ancient China in approximately 40 minutes. Based on the classical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, it invites players to assume the identities of legendary heroes and test their skills through battle, deception, and strategy.

The game shares many rules with BANG!, while adding its own Three Kingdoms-inspired twists. Players may have two powers, as the Monarch can gain an additional skill connected to their kingdom allegiance. Weapons can also feature extra powers, giving equipment a more distinctive role during play.

• Role-play and deception: Take on the identity of a renowned figure from the Three Kingdoms era.
• Expanded card effects: Borrow a weapon from another player or cancel the effect of another card.
• Last-life interaction: Peach may be played by any player when someone loses their last life, including when only two players remain.
• Counter-clockwise play: The turn order moves around the table in an unusual direction.

Characters such as the fierce Shu general Zhang Fei, the cunning Wei warlord Cao Cao, and the legendary Shu strategist Zhuge Liang evoke the valor, deceit, and strategy associated with this historic period. Their presence helps give Legends of the Three Kingdoms its dramatic, larger-than-life atmosphere.

Released in 2007, the game offers a social card-game experience for groups ranging from two to ten players. The English edition was later phased out in favor of War of the Three Kingdoms, whose alternate “Kingdom Wars” gameplay mode is available under that newer name.
