About this board game

Dobro is a fast climbing card game for 2–6 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Across three rounds, players compete to build the highest score while trying to keep cards out of their score piles.

On your turn, you have three ways to continue the climb. Play a card higher than the value currently in play, play two identical cards to double their value, or play a card matching the value in play to double it. These simple choices create a quick tactical puzzle as you look for the best way to keep the action moving.

If you cannot play any card, you must take all cards in play and place them in your score pile before starting a new climb. That can be bad news: when a player plays the last card from their hand, the round ends, and players receive points based on the cards in their score piles. The fewer cards you have, the more points you get.

Special cards add more ways to control the game. Use them at the right moment to change the direction of play, skip a turn, or play any number to avoid taking cards. Timing these effects can help you escape an awkward position or force opponents to collect cards.
