About this board game
Bauhaus is a territory-claiming board game for 2–4 players that takes about 30 minutes to play. Its aesthetics are based on the famous Staatliche Bauhaus school of design.
In Bauhaus, players compete to fence off and claim territory while constantly messing with one another’s plans. The aim is to enclose areas of the board with your pieces inside, since enclosed area determines the points you receive.
- Choose from four available action cards on the table.
- Use the chosen action to place barriers on the board.
- Try to enclose territory containing your pieces.
- Score points according to the enclosed area.
On each turn, the active player selects one of the four available action cards and carries out its action by placing barriers. Players continue choosing actions as the game progresses, giving everyone opportunities to pursue their own plans while interfering with those of their opponents.
The game ends when the deck is exhausted. Whoever has the most points from enclosed area wins, making every barrier placement part of the race to claim territory before the available actions run out.
Released in 2013, Bauhaus combines a distinctive design-school theme with a focused contest over space. Its straightforward turn structure keeps the central challenge clear: choose an action, place barriers, and work toward enclosing the most valuable territory with your pieces inside.
