Belle of the Ball is a card game for 2–5 players, with games lasting around 45 minutes. Set on the magical Victorian isle of Ludobel, it invites players to host fantastical galas during the eve of Carnivale.

Each player takes the role of a party host seeking the best mix of guests. As the night unfolds, hosts must watch the growing line of guests at the door and decide who belongs inside. Inviting guests who share passions with partygoers already at the gala can help shape a successful celebration.

Not every guest is right for every party. Hosts can hand out their precious stash of Regrets to those who should seek refuge elsewhere. However, a rejected guest may still attract attention: another host might invite that guest inside to collect the Regrets accumulated on them for later use.

• Invite guests whose passions fit those already inside.
• Give Regrets to guests who do not suit your gala.
• Watch other hosts for opportunities to claim accumulated Regrets.
• Seek the favor of the Belle of the Ball herself.

Hosts may also choose to look beyond the competition for guests and instead pursue the favor of the Belle of the Ball. Her charms can make or break any party, adding another way to approach the festivities.
