About this board game

Swordcrafters Expanded Edition is a sword-building board game for 1–5 players, with games lasting about 35 minutes. Players compete to forge the best sword by selecting tiles from a shared grid and scoring their finished blades for length, quality, and magic.

Each round, every player makes one cut in the grid of sword tiles, creating a separation. Once all separations are made, players select one grouping of tiles and assemble those pieces into their swords. When there are not enough tiles to create a new grid, the game ends and scoring begins.

Hold your completed sword at the center of the table to score its length. Sword quality is determined by the highest number of adjacent matching gems on each side of the sword, while magic is scored using the relevant gems shown on each of three sword magic cards.

This Expanded Edition includes the full base game along with three modules that can be played individually or combined. Together, they add new goals, tiles, and challenges while preserving the central cut-and-select system.

• Sword Relics: Add new tiles to the grid, increasing the importance of set collection during slices and selections.
• Sword Tips: Give players two additional goals that score based on their swords.
• Sword Mastery: Challenge players to complete mini-goals throughout the game, with mastery claimed each round to hone the blade.

With mix-and-match modules and multiple ways to evaluate each sword, Swordcrafters Expanded Edition offers enhanced replay value as players work to craft an improved sword of protection for the king.
