Korrigans

About this board game

Korrigans is a 2014 board game for 2–5 players that takes about 45 minutes to play. Each player guides two korrigans—fairies or spirits—across a landscape in search of tokens, points, and the hidden pot of gold.

During their first two turns, players place their korrigans on the board. Each placement lets a player examine the tokens at that location and keep one. Gold tokens may provide points at the end of the game, while animal tokens allow korrigans to pass through gates marked with the matching animal and reach new parts of the landscape.

• Two korrigans per player: Place and move both spirits across the board.
• Animal tokens: Collect the animals needed to pass through matching gates.
• Gold tokens: Gather potential points during the game.
• Rainbow tokens: Each round, the player holding the bag places one in a row or column, ruling out that line for the pot of gold.

From the third turn onward, players use their collected animal tokens to move their korrigans and pick up more tokens. The rainbow placements gradually reveal where the pot of gold cannot be, adding a changing restriction to the search for the final prize.

Once the pot of gold is placed on the board, the game enters its final round. Players try to reach it with their korrigans: one korrigan reaching the pot scores 10 points, while bringing both scores 15. In Korrigans, the player with the highest score wins.
