About this board game

Llamas Unleashed is a card game for 2–8 players that takes about 45 minutes to play. Your goal is to get 7 animals into your Field before your opponents, but reaching that target is far more challenging than it sounds.

This fully playable base game includes 135 cards in a magnetic box. It uses the same base mechanics as Unstable Unicorns, while introducing many new card effects and a cast of llamas, alpacas, goats, and rams. It is a standalone game and is not intended to be shuffled into an Unstable Unicorns collection.

Build your Field with character cards while using different effects to disrupt plans and strengthen your own position. The deck includes several card categories:

• Character cards featuring Llamas, Alpacas, Goats, and Rams
• Magic cards for powerful effects
• Instant cards that can interrupt play
• Upgrade and downgrade cards that influence your Field

Some effects are tied to particular animal types. A card such as “Goatmeal Raisin Cookie” or “Download More RAM” only affects the relevant type, making the animals in your Field important when choosing which cards to play.

The game’s signature feature is the Herd Bonus. If you have 3 characters of the same type in your Field at the same time, you receive a Field Advantage. These bonuses work like Upgrade cards without occupying an Upgrade slot, and their effects can include drawing extra cards, gaining protection, or stealing from other players.

Instant cards also offer an additional twist. When you use the right instant card against a card of its specific type, you can add that card to your hand instead of sending it to the discard pile. In Llamas Unleashed, planning your herd early can make the difference between victory and a baaaad time.
