About this board game

Vault of Dragons is a 2018 board game for 2–4 players that takes about 90 minutes to play. Players become unsavory factions in Waterdeep, competing to locate a rumored vault of gold hidden beneath the city.

To find the vault, players send their followers to locations across Waterdeep. These missions reveal rumors and treasure, gradually helping each faction uncover the clues needed to reach its goal. Rival factions are searching for the same prize, so control of important locations can quickly become contested.

Brawling with other factions is an expected part of the struggle, but it is not the only danger. The City Watch can complicate the race, forcing players to account for the risks of making their moves in the city.

Double-sided location tiles expand the places available for exploration, offering even more areas in which to search for information and treasure. As the investigation develops, the trail leads away from the streets of Waterdeep and into the dungeons of the Undermountain.
