About this board game
Minotaur Lords is a two-player card game with a play time of approximately 30 minutes, in which rival Minotaur Lords fight for control of the ancient isle of Cresos.
Cresos is divided into upper and lower areas, and each area contains three aspects: economic, religious, and military. Together, these form six columns where the players compete for influence. On a turn, players play Minions, Buildings, and Leaders cards into these columns.
The player with the highest strength in a column exercises supremacy over it and may use that column’s special ability. Winning a majority means having more influence in a column than the opposing player, making control of these areas central to the struggle for the island.
- Compete across six columns spanning economic, religious, and military aspects.
- Play Minions, Buildings, and Leaders cards to build influence.
- Use special abilities from columns where you hold supremacy.
- Win through card exhaustion or majority control of both areas.
A player wins if they begin their turn and their opponent has no cards, or if they hold majority control over both the upper and lower areas. This gives Minotaur Lords two distinct paths to victory: outlast the opposing hand or establish dominance across Cresos.
Minotaur Lords is a standalone sequel to Scarab Lords. Players who own Scarab Lords can also have an Egyptian faction face one of the new factions from Minotaur Lords, creating an additional way to combine the two games.
