Grind House

About this board game

Grind House is a narrative horror game for 2–6 players that plays in about 30 minutes, challenging guests to survive five randomized rooms inside a decaying mansion.

Each player arrives at the mysterious Grind House with a classic archetype and a secret motive. Survival is the ultimate goal, but every character may have a different reason for entering the contest. The Doctor may try to keep everyone alive, while the psychopath may attempt to split the group apart. The Pianist, meanwhile, simply wants to keep their hands intact.

The setting is an old mansion that once stood as the largest slaughterhouse in the state. After The Host welcomes the guests and seals them inside, the players must face the house and its deadly entertainment while pursuing their own objectives.

• After death: Perished players may return as ghosts to haunt the survivors

Death does not necessarily remove a player from Grind House. Those who perish can become ghosts and continue haunting the remaining survivors as they attempt to make it through the mansion unscathed.

After all five rooms have been explored, any survivors add up their score to determine the winner. Released in 2020, Grind House combines a sinister setting, competing motives, and a continuing role for the dead in a compact horror experience.
