About this board game

The BoardGameGeek Game is a fast-paced tactical game for 3–6 players that takes around 60–75 minutes to play. Set in the quaint Cotswold town of Boardway, it celebrates the tenth anniversary of the BoardGameGeek website.

Ernie, the famous BoardGameGeek mascot, is on holiday meeting his English cousins and fellow geeks. While he enjoys his trip, players compete in two connected roles that bring publishers, games shops, and gaming groups together.

• Represent a publisher: Supply your company’s games to the games shops of Boardway. The six publishers are Eggertspiele, Hans im Glück, Queen, R&D, Treefrog, and Ystari.
• Lead a team of geeks: Your three “dicey” geeks work to collect sets of games that meet the requirements of their gaming group.
• Earn Geek Gold: Gain GG when your publisher sells games, then earn further GG at the end of the game for successfully acquiring the required games.

Every player is therefore balancing the interests of a game publisher with the needs of a gaming group. Selling games earns Geek Gold during play, while collecting the right sets creates another opportunity to increase your final score.

At the end of the game, the player with the most Geek Gold wins. The result is a fun, competitive experience built around tactical decisions, game sales, and set collection.

Designed for 3–6 players, The BoardGameGeek Game offers a lively tabletop experience with a “geeky English start player” option. Its theme, publisher roster, and Boardway setting make it a fitting celebration of the BoardGameGeek community.
