OUTFOX the FOX

About this board game

OUTFOX the FOX is a party trivia game for 3–10 players that takes about 60 minutes to play. Each round, one player becomes the Fox and selects a Top Five list category from a card.

The Fox examines the answers, then invents an answer they believe the group will rank among the actual Top Five. The Fox reads all six possible answers in random order while another player writes them on dry-erase tiles. The clue includes the list’s source and date, giving the group context for its discussion.

Everyone else has two minutes to debate the correct ranking order of the five real answers and identify which answer was made up. The challenge might involve deciding whether Ranch Dressing or BBQ Sauce belongs higher on a list of best-selling condiments, or recalling the most popular baby names of the 1980s.

• Rank the five genuine answers in their correct order.
• Work together to identify the Fox’s false answer.
• Place your personal colored token on the answer you feel most confident about.

Players earn one point for each correctly ranked answer. The Fox scores based on how highly the group ranks the invented answer among the Top Five. Before the correct rankings are revealed, each player may place their token on the answer they personally believe is best—including the suspected fake. A correct choice earns three bonus points.

After the answers are revealed, the role of Fox passes to the next player. With its group debate, surprising results, and no need to be singled out with individual trivia questions, OUTFOX the FOX gives everyone an equally engaging way to test their judgment and discussion skills. It was released in 2025.
