About this board game
Four Tribes is a two-player board game with a 30-minute play time, released in 2013. Each player takes the role of a powerful monarch locked in conflict with the other.
The setting is a time of famine, while the war between the two leaders has reached a stalemate. Both monarchs believe the key to defeating their rival is gaining the support of the Northern Tribes.
Players compete to sway the Village Elders of the Four Tribes. To win their favor, each player supplies villages with the desperately needed resources they require. Winning a village brings its Village Elder to your side.
- Supply villages during a time of famine.
- Compete for the favor of the Village Elders.
- Seek the support of all Four Tribes.
The central contest is a struggle for influence. Every village won strengthens a monarch’s position, bringing them closer to securing the allegiance needed for victory.
In Four Tribes, success comes from gaining the favor of enough Village Elders to win the support of the Four Tribes. The game was designed for two players, with a four-player variant planned as part of the finished product.
