Bluffer

About this board game

Bluffer is a question-and-answer party game for 2–10 players that takes about 20 minutes to play. One player acts as the game leader, reading a question for the group to consider.

Each player gives an answer to the question. The game leader then shuffles the submitted answers together with the correct answer provided on the question card, creating a set of possibilities for everyone to examine.

The players must decide which answer they believe is correct. The challenge is not simply to recognize the truth: players also try to convince the other participants to vote for their own false answer.

1. The game leader reads a question.
2. Players provide their answers.
3. The answers are shuffled with the correct answer from the question card.
4. Players vote for the answer they believe is correct and attempt to persuade others to choose their false answer.

This creates a lively mix of question answering, deduction, and persuasion. A convincing answer can appear authentic, while the genuine answer must compete with the players’ deliberately misleading alternatives.

Released in 1993, Bluffer is designed for a broad group size, from a small gathering of 2 players to a full table of 10. Its straightforward format makes the central experience easy to follow: answer the question, assess the shuffled choices, and see whether the group can separate the correct response from the bluffs.
