About this board game
Claim Pocket is a two-player game of recruitment and faction control that plays in about 25 minutes. Released in 2020, it challenges you and your opponent to decide who will become king after the ruler dies without a known heir.
The King’s death is shrouded in mystery: he was found face down in a wine barrel, and no one knows whether foul play or excessive thirst was responsible. With the throne vacant, the realm’s five factions must decide which player has earned their support.
Claim is played across two distinct phases, each requiring a different approach:
- Phase one: Use the cards in your hand to recruit followers.
- Phase two: Use the followers recruited earlier to compete for the support of the five factions.
Every faction has a special power that affects play, and those powers can change between the two phases. Managing your cards and followers is essential as you work to build influence where it matters most.
At the end of the game, each faction’s vote goes to the player with the majority of its followers. Win the support of at least three factions, and the crown is yours.
With its compact two-phase structure and shifting faction powers, Claim Pocket offers a focused contest for control in a short play time. This edition also includes the Ghosts expansion, adding to the contents of the game.
