About this board game

Da Luigi is a restaurant-management board game for 2–4 players, played in about 40 minutes. Released in 2015, it challenges players to keep track of guests, ingredients, tables, and time while working toward a star for their restaurant.

Your goal is to attract as many guests as possible, but quantity is not everything. Satisfied customers become good customers, while guests who do not receive their desired food quickly enough can cost you points at the end of the game.

Each turn brings the bustle of restaurant life into focus. Players buy ingredients for their meals from the market, paying for them with time. Since time is always working against you, every purchase and serving decision matters as you try to complete meals before the game ends.

• Welcome guests and find free tables for them.
• Buy the ingredients needed for their meals from the market.
• Serve guests before their desired food becomes a liability.
• Use the guest mix and timing to put pressure on your opponents.

Variety comes from the 90 individual guest cards. Wealthy guests with plenty of time may be worth making room for, while grumpy customers in a hurry can be pushed toward your opponents. This creates constant tension as players decide which guests to accept, which tables to fill, and which problems to pass along.

Running a restaurant is hectic, especially when the other players are always acting like unwelcome guests. In Da Luigi, the player who keeps the best overview of the dining room, ingredients, and dwindling time can earn the restaurant’s star.
