About this board game

Testament is a cooperative monster-battle card game for 1–4 players, with each stage taking about 60 minutes to play. Modeled after the familiar MMORPG trinity of tank, healer, and damage dealer, it challenges players to coordinate four characters against escalating threats.

Before play, players choose which skills each character should have. Each turn, new mob cards are drawn, creating fresh tactical problems to solve. The group must use its characters’ abilities effectively while managing mana, aggro, and other dangers.

• Defeat newly drawn mob cards through coordinated skill use.
• Face a boss fight at the end of every stage, each with specific rules.

The game contains six stages, and it can be started at any stage or played as a campaign. In campaign play, characters level up after each stage, giving the adventure a continuing structure as the party progresses.

Testament is designed with a hard difficulty setting. Its designer claims that few players have a real chance of succeeding on their first playthrough, making each attempt a demanding test of planning, teamwork, and resource management.
