About this board game

Hungry Hamsters is a quick roll-and-write game for 1–6 players that plays in about 10 minutes. Players explore a burrow by crossing off spaces in their caves, aiming to score more points than their opponents.

On each turn, every player rolls a six-sided die and crosses off as many spaces as the die shows in one of their caves. Choosing where to place each cross is central to the game, as completed caves and special spaces contribute to the final score.

The endgame begins when any player places their first cross in their fourth cave. This creates a time pressure for everyone at the table, encouraging players to balance steady progress with the pursuit of valuable scoring opportunities.

• Roll a six-sided die each turn.
• Cross off the indicated number of spaces in one cave.
• Score points for completely crossed-off caves, mushrooms, and nuts.
• Race to finish with the highest score before the game ends.

Players earn points for every cave they completely cross off, as well as for crossed-off mushrooms and nuts. The scoring rewards both progress through the burrow and attention to these additional spaces.

With its compact play time and simple turn structure, Hungry Hamsters offers a focused roll-and-write challenge for a broad player count. The game was released in 2020 and can be played with anywhere from one to six players.
