About this board game

Holdfast: EastFront 1941–1945 is a 1–2 player World War II campaign game with an approximately 300-minute play time, covering the war between Germany and Russia from the launch of Barbarossa to the bitter end.

Using blocks with labels as military units, players maneuver their forces across a large hard-mounted map to destroy enemy formations and pursue their wartime objectives. The German player must advance rapidly east, while the Russian player trades ground for time and prepares a counterattack.

Germany seeks to capture the key cities of Leningrad, Moscow, and Stalingrad, contending not only with the Russian army but also with the harsh Russian winter. Russia must withstand the German sledgehammer attacks and eventually drive the invaders back toward Berlin.

• Cover the complete Eastern Front campaign from 1941 through 1945.
• Play the original campaign ending in 1942 or the expanded To Moscow and Back 1941–1945 game.
• Explore three additional scenarios: Fall Blau and beyond, Kursk, and the destruction of Army Group Center.
• Use later-war forces, including Russian Air and SS units.

The remastered edition expands the board eastward campaign into the later war and pushes the map out to Berlin. It also includes the original game that ends in 1942, allowing players to experience the earlier design alongside the full-war version.
