About this board game
Das Vermächtnis des Maharaja is an antique-collecting board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 30 minutes. Gather old treasures, assemble matching collections, and finish with more points than your opponents.
The game features 36 antique cards showing six types in six colors, plus fifteen collection cards. Four antique cards are displayed at a time, while trade cards create a changing market with gold coins worth 3 rupees.
On your turn, choose between taking the leftmost gold coin from a trade card or paying the cost on the leftmost trade card bearing a coin to purchase one of the antiques on display. Afterward, you may claim a collection card if you own all the antiques it depicts.
- Collect antiques from the changing market.
- Claim collection cards to prove your antiques form a set.
- Manage your rupees and pay taxes down to a maximum of 8.
- Balance new collections against the antiques you may need to discard.
Many collection cards require you to discard one of their depicted antiques when claimed. This can help complete a collection, but it may also make it harder to claim other cards later. The round ends when all gold coins have been claimed or all displayed antiques have been purchased, then the trade cards and antique display are refreshed.
When the antique cards run out, players discard any antiques they hold if they have only one card of that color. Scores then come from collection cards, remaining antiques, and leftover money. In Das Vermächtnis des Maharaja, the player with the most points wins.
