Superfight

About this board game

Superfight is a party card game for 3-20 players that takes about 15 minutes to play. Players create ridiculous fighters from character, power, and weakness cards, then argue why their combination should win.

The core deck contains 500 cards: 160 white character cards and 340 black cards featuring powers and weaknesses. Each player starts with a hand of three white cards and three black cards, choosing one card of each type to create a fighter for the battle.

Players use their creations to challenge the player next to them. Before the fight, they receive a random black card, adding another power or weakness to the debate. The central challenge is not simply building a combination, but making the strongest case for why it should defeat the opposing fighter.

Once the fighters are revealed, players argue their cases and the table votes to decide the winner. The result is a quick, social contest built around persuasion, surprising card combinations, and deliberately absurd fights.

Superfight went through a major reprint in late 2014, refining the rules and about 30% of the cards after the original print runs sold out. The updated version replaced the Cards Against Humanity/Apples to Apples mechanism with table votes and one-on-one battles, while retaining alternative rulesets for groups that prefer a single judge.
