About this board game

Souvenirs from Venice is a 30-minute board game for 2–5 players about sailing a gondola through a hidden grid to collect the right goods before your flight departs.

To set up, lay the tiles face down in rows on the table. Each player takes a small gondola and moves it between the rows, using a die roll to determine movement on their turn.

After moving, you find out what can be purchased. The souvenirs come in six types, with five to ten copies of each type. To score points, you need to collect three souvenirs of the same type, making each revealed tile a potentially valuable discovery.

• Roll the die and move your gondola between the rows.
• Reveal tiles and decide which souvenirs to purchase.
• Collect three souvenirs of one type to score points.
• Watch for the Pigeon Feed Seller, which forces you to trade one souvenir with a neighbor.
• Return to the airport before every tile is turned face up.

The hidden information changes throughout the game. As more tiles are revealed, souvenirs become easier to collect, but the growing knowledge also brings you closer to the final deadline.

That deadline is crucial: you must get your gondola back to the airport before everything is flipped over. If you fail to return in time, you have missed your plane and lost the game.
