About this board game
School of Sorcery is a two-player dice and area control game with an approximately 40-minute playing time, in which players compete to build their reputation at a school of magic.
Players use dice rolls to place crystals onto different cards. By carefully competing for these cards, they try to win the magical items, abilities, and rewards that will shape their game. Every placement contributes to the struggle for control, making each roll an important opportunity.
Once won, cards can provide special powers, victory points, or both. This gives players meaningful reasons to pursue different cards as they work toward the strongest combination of rewards. Alongside collecting powerful magical items, players also build friendships to strengthen their reputation at the school.

School of Sorcery is a reimplementation and revision of The Institute for Magical Arts. It keeps many of the earlier game’s mechanisms while introducing new rule changes, upgraded components, and card powers that have almost all been changed.
The game also adds new cards with a variety of powers, expanding the possibilities available during play. With its direct two-player competition and blend of dice-driven decisions and card-based rewards, School of Sorcery offers a focused magical contest in which every successful claim can influence the path to victory.
