About this board game

Abaddon is a futuristic combat board game for 2–4 players, with battles lasting about 45 minutes. Set on a desolate planet rich in Feronium power crystals, it casts players as rival human factions fighting for territorial control with giant bio-mech suits called Links.

Each scenario transforms the 28-by-19-inch battlefield into a new conflict using a varying number of units and customizable terrain. The Battle Manual includes more than 15 mission scenarios, giving players different objectives and setups for their campaigns across the unforgiving world.

  • 32 highly detailed mech figurines
  • 18 free-standing landscape terrain features
  • More than 100 Wild Fire and Weapon System cards
  • Battle dice, tokens, and a Battle Manual

During a turn, a player rolls Activation Dice to determine which Links can be activated and moved. Combat combines cards and dice: the attacker assigns Weapon System cards to enemy targets, then the defender responds with defensive cards that can modify the dice results.

The unstable technology and mysterious forces surrounding the Abaddon region add another layer of unpredictability. Wild Fire cards can trigger effects ranging from possible shutdowns to anti-gravity surges, creating sudden complications during the fight.

Links are powered by Feronium crystals, and damage depletes those crystals. When a unit runs out, it can no longer function and is considered destroyed. In Abaddon, victory is usually earned by damaging and destroying enemy units: each destroyed enemy crystal is worth one victory point, while the mission scenario determines the precise path to winning.
