About this board game

Converge: Catalysts of Change is a 30-minute card game for 2 players, set on the failing world of Malvios, where survivors seek a path forward as its suns die.

Players compete to build the strongest team while meeting changing goals. Each card has two parts: a character with a skillset, rank, and special ability, plus a goal with a star value. A card can be played in several ways, creating meaningful choices throughout the game.

• Play a character to your team, using its suit and value to fulfill goals.
• Discard a card to use its special ability.
• Place a card in the central area as a new shared goal for both players.

Goals in the central area apply to both players, and fulfilled goals remain in play. At the end of each round, players count their current star value. The player with the most stars gains control of the powerful artifact; if they already control it, they win. If neither player secures victory before all cards have been played, the artifact’s holder wins.

Catalysts of Change features three distinct six-card skillsets. The sage Archivists use their library to Educate others, turning a goal into a team member. Resourceful Mechanists can Scavenge almost anything, converting a discarded card into a goal. Experimental Alchemists push science beyond its limits, often leaving team members Burned and discarded.

Converge’s story and gameplay span multiple sets, each contained in its own wallet. Play this set on its own, or combine any three skillsets from multiple sets to create a new strategic combination.
