About this board game

Sandwich is a card game for 3–6 players that takes about 15 minutes, challenging everyone to collect ingredients, create unusual sandwiches, and judge the results.

Each player begins with nine face-down ingredient cards. Ingredients can be familiar, such as tomato and cheese, or unexpected, such as mussels and melon. Players simultaneously reveal the top card of their stacks, then each takes one available card they want, possibly choosing their own. This selection process continues until everyone has chosen nine ingredients.

With their collected ingredients ready, players create three sandwiches, using three ingredients for each one. They then give their sandwiches to three neighbors on the left; in a three-player game, the sandwiches are divided differently. As a result, every player receives three sandwiches created by other players.

• Collect nine ingredient cards through simultaneous drafting.
• Create three sandwiches with three ingredients each.
• Listen to other players present the sandwiches and rank them.

Players take turns tasting the sandwiches on their plates by reading each sandwich’s ingredients aloud. They identify which sandwich sounds best, which is second-best, and which would be left on the plate. The first choice awards 3 points to its creator, the second awards 2 points, and the rejected sandwich earns 0 points.

After three complete rounds—nine sandwiches in total—the player with the most points wins. With its mix of ingredient collection, creative combinations, and group judgment, Sandwich turns every hand of cards into a contest to make the least disgusting creations possible.
