Island Alone

About this board game

Island Alone is a roll-and-write survival game for 1 to 4 players, with a listed play time of 40 minutes and an official average game time of 20–30 minutes. Designed for ages 8 and up, it challenges players to endure the dangers of a deserted tropical island.

On each turn, the active player rolls four D6 dice and performs actions using the resulting dice pool. The goal is determined by the scenario in play, giving each game a clear challenge to overcome rather than a single fixed objective.

• Find all the treasures

Survival depends on carefully managing constantly decreasing levels of food and water. When either resource runs out, the player begins losing health, bringing death closer with every setback. The island also presents other threats, and players may even die at the hands of another player.

The game continues until the scenario is completed or all players have died. This creates a sharp race against dwindling supplies, unpredictable dangers, and the demands of the chosen objective. Whether the challenge is escape, endurance, or treasure hunting, every roll contributes to the struggle to survive.

Island Alone was first published in Print & Play format, making its survival-focused roll-and-write experience available in that form before its later publication.
