About this board game

Prospectus is a trading game for 3–4 players that takes about 180 minutes to play. Set in the Kriztus potion exchange, it challenges rival mages to earn the most money by buying and selling potions in an unpredictable market.

As mages, players can look into the market futures to guide their investments, but no prediction is guaranteed. The game’s distinctive crystal ball mechanism, inspired by the cube towers in Wallenstein, Shogun, and Amerigo, ensures that market developments can still surprise everyone.

Every mage also commands an array of spells. These spells can influence the market in unpredictable ways, disrupt opponents’ plans, and turn changing prices to your advantage. Careful timing and clever spell-casting are essential for traders hoping to control the exchange.

The powerful High Council is forbidden from entering the trading floor, so it buys potions directly from the mages. Meeting its demands provides a valuable source of income and rewards the markets for supplying what it needs. However, the Council also works to crash the values of potions it fails to receive.

In Prospectus, success depends on cunning investments, timely sales, and knowing when to unleash the right spell. The mage who earns the most money becomes the most successful potion trader.
