About this board game

Less Is More is a word-clue game for 3–6 players that takes around 20 minutes to play. In each round, one player becomes the guesser while everyone else tries to describe a secret term with as few words and letters as possible.

The central challenge is finding the smallest clue that still communicates the answer. A longer description may be clearer, but a shorter one can earn more points if the guesser understands it. Every letter matters as players weigh precision against extreme brevity.

For example, to clue “Berlin,” a player might write “Capital Germany.” They could shorten that to “Cap Germ,” or risk the even more compact “Cap DE.” These clues show how Less Is More turns familiar terms into a contest of creative compression.

After the clues are given, the guesser tries to identify the described term. Whoever uses the fewest letters while still being understood by the guesser scores points, making successful communication just as important as saving space.
