Le Roy des Ribauds

About this board game

Le Roy des Ribauds is a two-player card game that plays in about 15 minutes, adapting the famous comic series created by Vincent Brugeas and Ronan Toulhoat.

At the beginning of the game, each player receives a hand of three cards. A row of four face-down cards forms the Court, creating a hidden contest of power in medieval France.

On a turn, a player chooses between two actions: flip a card in the Court to reveal it, or play a card from their hand to replace one already there. A replacement may be placed face-up, activating its effect, or face-down to keep its identity concealed.

The game features four card types, each with its own effect:

• Roi (King)
• Reine (Queen)
• Chevalier (Knight)
• Assassin (Rogue)

The King, Queen, and Rogue each have a distinct victory condition known as a conspiracy. Watch the Court, manage the cards in your hand, and decide when to reveal information or hide your intentions. The first player to fulfill one of these conspiracies wins the game.

Simple rules lead to tense and strategic decisions as both players compete to control the Court and complete their plan.
