NEON

About this board game

NEON is a fast-paced combat game for 2–6 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Each player becomes a Fighter representing a Corporation in a Tournament held in the ghost city of Neo Nagoya.

Across a series of rounds, Fighters explore the city’s Sectors, search for Equipment cards, and battle opponents from other companies. Weapons and armor help you attack and defend, while each Fighter’s unique abilities and the features of different Sectors create important tactical choices.

Every round begins with Choosing cards. Players select two Action cards from their hand to create a combination of three Actions. The visible number of that combination determines turn order, making card selection an important part of planning your turn.

During the Actions phase, you can move to an adjacent Sector, search for Equipment, attack a target, adjust your Force Field for defense, take the Leader token, or gain Energy. Attacks involve choosing a target, using Equipment cards, and rolling dice, while the target rolls dice to defend. Each half of your Force Field adds one die to your defense.

At the end of each round, the Arena changes as one or two Sectors submerge. Fighters on those Sectors take damage, so choosing where to move and when to commit to a battle can determine who remains in the Tournament.

NEON offers three ways to compete:

• Resurrection: the Fighter with the most Victory Points wins.
• Squad: the team with the most Victory Points wins.
• Battle Royale: the last Fighter to survive wins.
