The Golden Sails is a trading game for 2–4 players, designed for a 35-minute journey through the wizarding world as merchant houses seek valuable cargo and profitable returns home.

Every year, the merchant houses of Waard equip a caravan of ships for a voyage to distant islands. Their traders travel from port to port, searching for unusual products that can be brought back and sold for a huge profit.

The journey leads merchants to twelve ports, each part of a wider trading adventure. At these stops, players hope to acquire remarkable goods from across the wizarding world before returning home with their cargo.

Merchants cannot always get exactly what they want in The Golden Sails. Plans therefore need to remain flexible as traders pursue the products available to them and consider how to turn their acquisitions into the greatest possible profit.

That tension between hopes and opportunities gives each voyage its character. A carefully imagined cargo may not be the cargo that comes home, so successful merchants must adapt while visiting the ports along their route.

Released in 2016, The Golden Sails presents a compact trading journey filled with magical merchandise, distant islands and the promise of wealth. For players who enjoy the idea of gathering exotic products and bringing them home to sell, it offers a focused 35-minute adventure for two to four merchant houses.
