About this board game

Pirate Den is a bluffing and deception game for 3–5 players that plays in 30 minutes or less. Each player takes the role of a pirate captain competing to collect the most valuable loot.

During the game, players play cards to take gems from the center of the table or steal them from one another. Every move can shift the balance of riches, so watch your rivals and protect your growing hoard.

Players can also bury treasure by turning five gems into one buried treasure. Buried treasure cannot be stolen, making it a valuable way to protect loot while working toward victory.

• Bluff and deceive your fellow pirate captains.
• Take gems from the center of the table and from other players.
• Convert five gems into buried treasure to keep them safe.
• Build the highest-scoring hoard before the game ends.

The game ends when one player has five buried treasures. At that point, players add up their points: each gem is worth 1 point, while each buried treasure is worth 5 points.

In Pirate Den, collecting gems is only part of the challenge. You must decide when to take risks, when to protect your loot, and when deception can help you get ahead. The captain with the most points at the end wins.
