About this board game
Doodle Dungeon is a board game for 2–4 players that takes about 60 minutes, inviting you to design, test, and defend your own dungeon.
Instead of guiding a hero through danger, you become the dungeon architect. Each player works on a personal dungeon blueprint, using drafted cards to add monsters, traps, and treasures as required. Every addition helps shape the challenge that awaits the test hero.
During the drafting phase, players select cards until fourteen have been drafted. Those cards determine the elements that must be added immediately to each blueprint. Once the drafting is complete, every blueprint is passed to the next player for quality inspection.
The new owner draws the route an anthropomorphic test hero will take through the dungeon. When the blueprints return to their creators, the real challenge begins: keep the dummy hero from killing the monsters, stealing the treasures, and making it out alive.
- Draft cards to build a personal dungeon blueprint.
- Place monsters, traps, and treasures as instructed.
- Pass your dungeon to another player to draw the hero’s route.
- Defend your own dungeon while supporting heroes in opponents’ dungeons.
The drafted cards are not only used to create hazards. They can also help fight off the hero in your own dungeon or support the heroes exploring your opponents’ designs. This creates a contest between construction, defense, and interference.
Combining the satisfaction of creating a dungeon with the tension of defending it, Doodle Dungeon mixes draft-and-draw gameplay with a playful quality inspection. In the end, the creator of the most devious dungeon will triumph.
