About this board game
Pass the Pandas is a dice game for 2–5 players that takes about 10 minutes to play. The goal is simple: be the first player to get rid of all your dice by rolling pandas, bamboo, or water drops.
On your turn, roll your dice and resolve the symbols you get. A roll of pandas lets you pass those dice to other players, helping move them out of your own pool. A roll of water allows you to discard those dice.
Bamboo creates an obligation for the next player. Their roll of bamboo must be matched or exceeded, adding a competitive challenge as the dice move from one turn to the next. A blank roll does not help, so blank dice must be kept and rolled again on your next turn.
- Pandas: Pass those dice to other players.
- Bamboo: The next player must match or exceed the roll.
- Water drops: Discard those dice.
- Blank: Keep the die to roll again on your next turn.
Every roll can change who is closest to victory, whether you are passing pandas away, clearing water drops, or dealing with blanks that remain in front of you. The rules are built around a small set of easy-to-understand symbols, making each turn focused on the immediate result of the dice.
Released in 2014, Pass the Pandas offers a compact race to empty your dice. Keep rolling, use each symbol to your advantage, and try to be the first player with no dice left.
