About this board game

Universal Rule is a pocket-sized 4X-style wallet game for 3–5 players, with games lasting about 45 minutes. Set deep in the Pocket Universe, it challenges players to compete for control of 17 newly discovered planets and the crucial resources they provide.

Players can colonize new planets, explore new areas on those planets, and gain galactic credits based on the resources each planet produces. They may also attempt to destroy planets controlled by opponents when those worlds threaten their existence. Battles are shaped by shifting alliances and stacks of galactic credits.

Other players can follow your actions, but doing so comes at a cost. Every decision contributes to the struggle for dominance, as players balance expansion, exploration, resources, and conflict across the universe. The first player to demonstrate true dominance through victory points wins.

The 17 planets in Universal Rule include:

• Kraan, Sautera, and the three worlds of Uagan: Prime, Mezzo, and Terminal
• Pulse-Sphere, Yer-Froom, Cheroa, Quysin, and Agiland
• Shreno, Delling, Nevenell, Dezzerek, Erebiyon, Wim Star, and Lyzin

Released in the January 2017 Board Game of the Month Club $20+ package, Universal Rule brings a broad galactic conflict into a compact format. Its combination of colonization, exploration, economic rewards, planetary destruction, and costly follow actions creates a focused contest for universal rule.
