About this board game

Philosophy is a relaxing abstract board game for 2 players that takes about 30 minutes to play.

In this calm, thoughtful game, you and your fellow player are friends having a conversation. The board becomes your conversation space, while your pieces represent ideas. Your goal is to connect three of your ideas in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line to form a Conclusion.

Players take turns placing idea tiles, but new tiles may only be placed in the board’s central nine squares. Every tile targets a particular space and produces a unique effect. With careful placement, your ideas can push or pull opposing tiles, changing the shape of the conversation and opening new possibilities.

• Connect three of your tiles in a line to win.
• Place new tiles only within the center nine squares.
• Use unique tile effects to push and pull opposing ideas.
• Trigger chain reactions when moved tiles affect neighboring tiles or enter targeted spaces.

Movement can quickly make the board more complex. A tile that is pushed may move another tile, or even enter the target space of one of your previously placed tiles, triggering further chain reactions. Tiles pushed off the board return to their owner.

Philosophy often feels more like a puzzle than a competitive game. Its simple mechanics, difficult decisions, calm theme, and premium production create a considered experience for both avid gamers and casual players.
