DC Breakout: Arkham Asylum is a 45-minute competitive board game for 2–6 players, released in 2026, in which Gotham City villains race to freedom from Arkham Asylum.
You have broken out before, but this time the escape becomes a contest. Each player receives five villains from Batman’s history, then chooses two teams of two villains. Each team competes in one of the game’s two races, creating a daring race to see who can get away first.
With hundreds of possible villain duos, every team selection offers a different combination of characters. Each villain has a unique power, and gadgets can supplement those powers to help you gain the upper hand over your rivals.

The structure keeps the focus on choosing effective pairings and using each villain’s strengths. You must guide your selected teams through both races while trying to stay ahead of the other players’ rogues.
In DC Breakout: Arkham Asylum, winning the first race is not enough. Whoever wins the second race wins the entire game, so every getaway contributes to the final race for freedom.
