About this board game

The Order of Veiel is a dark fantasy dungeon adventure for 1–7 players, with sessions lasting about 180 minutes. Work together against automated threats or challenge another player who takes the role of the dungeon master.

As adventurers, you must survive the torments of a dangerous crypt filled with monsters, traps, curses, chests, and doors. The dungeon is built from 6 to 15 cards, and each new card is revealed as the party chooses whether to go deeper or return to camp. Careful planning, mutual aid, and difficult decisions are essential as you gather resources for the entire team.

Players can choose from 13 characters, each contributing to the party’s attempt to overcome the crypt. Loot and supplies can be used throughout the adventure, while money may be spent at the smith or alchemist. Once the party reaches the far end of the dungeon, it can decide whether to face the boss or retreat—though eventually, the ultimate nemesis must be confronted.

  • Cooperative mode: the game automates the dungeon master, monsters, and events.
  • Player-versus-player mode: one player creates the dungeon, controls the monsters, and launches events against the other players.
  • Turn-based combat: heroes act first, using weapons, skills, or consumable objects before the monsters take their turn.
  • Four bosses: defeat one to secure victory, or fail and lose the game.

Monsters generally target the hero holding the defender token, although some can choose their targets. Released in 2020, The Order of Veiel combines exploration, shared resources, tactical combat, and escalating danger in a grim fantasy journey.
