About this board game

Hii Fuu!! is a trick-taking game for 4–5 players with a play time of about 25 minutes. Across nine tricks, players aim to win exactly two tricks, and to claim them as late in the round as possible.

Its scoring system creates a constant dilemma. Winning anything other than exactly two tricks earns zero points: taking three tricks eliminates you from the round, while finishing with zero or one trick also scores nothing. Even when you reach two tricks, the later those tricks are won, the higher the score.

The result is a game where every trick matters from the opening lead to the final play. Players must judge when to take control and when to avoid winning, balancing their plans against the actions of everyone else at the table.

• Nine-trick challenge: Aim for exactly two tricks, as late as possible.
• High-risk scoring: Three tricks causes elimination from the round, while zero, one, or more than two tricks score zero.
• Distinctive hand selection: Discard a relatively large number of cards from the dealt hand to determine your initial hand.

Unlike most trick-taking games, Hii Fuu!! does not simply begin with the full hand dealt to each player. Choosing which cards to discard makes each player’s intentions intersect before the tricks even begin, helping every session develop differently.
